INTERNATIONAL LAW ASSOCIATION OF THAILAND AND THAILAND JOURNAL OF INTERNATIONAL LAW

Inspired by the prestigious International Law Association, the International Law Association of Thailand (ILAT) was established on 8 June 1984 by a small group of Thai lawyers in Bangkok. Its key objectives are to promote the study, clarification and development of public international law, private international law and comparative law, and to further international understanding and goodwill.

The Thailand Journal of International Law succeeds the Thailand Yearbook of International and Comparative Law. The latter was produced by ILAT, and edited by Professor Vitit Muntarbhorn, a well-respected international lawyer and human rights advocate.

The Journal aims to achieve ILAT’s objectives by publishing articles and works of high-quality addressing a wide range of international legal issues. It comprises five sections: Articles, Notes, Thailand Features, Case Reviews, and Book/Article Reviews. While Thailand Features focus on the practice, cases and scholarship associated with Thailand, the other sections cover any topics related to international law, broadly understood, as well as those with particular reference to Thailand. All contributions will be made available online to ensure the widest possible dissemination. The intended readership includes legal scholars and practitioners of international law.

The editors invite submissions from around the world. Prior to submission, prospective authors are welcome to discuss ideas for their work proposals.

The Journal uses double-blind review. Thus the manuscripts for Articles and Notes of sufficient standard will be read independently by the editors and at least two reviewers. The name of the authors will not be given to the reviewers, and vice versa. Normally, those manuscripts will be reviewed within 8 – 12 weeks after submission. At that time, an indication will be given as to the acceptability or otherwise for the Journal and any suggested revision.

The editors reserve the right to return manuscripts that are not consistent with these instructions.
